Grant Writer

We are looking for a dedicated volunteer to support the fundraising team in writing grant proposals for public and private funding opportunities. Through his/her experience in grant writing, this volunteer will assist in writing coherent, organized and compelling proposals. You will apply your knowledge of fundraising methods and plans to reach income goals. You will also collaborate with team members from other departments in the organization to assist with other fundraising projects. To ensure success you need to write well and have proficient knowledge of fundraising methods and be committed to the mission you are representing. Preferred applicants are deadlinedriven team players with outstanding creative skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for researching Grant opportunities.
  • Possess broad knowledge of the Lisbon Project structure, functions and needs
  • Possess essential knowledge of a grant application process
  • Develop effective grant proposals and grant reports based on the Lisbon
  • Project requirement
  • Identify and understand the financial and budget matters of the
  • organization
  • Interfacing and communicating with individuals at all levels of the organization (CFO, Director of programs, program coordinators, etc.)
  • Assist various department staff in writing periodic reports to comply with grant requirements
  • Maintain a professional relation with fund providers to ensure and check if the information provided meets the requirements
  • Submit proposals within deadlines to concerned people for approvals
  • Maintain an update calendar of project report obligations
  • Follow up with program director and program coordinators the progress of project implementation

Requirements:

  • Grant writing experience (preferably experience with European fund applications)
  • Fluent in English
  • Fluent in Portuguese is a positive extra
  • Top-shelf research skills
  • Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-driven, pro-active, ability to work effectively and independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
