Homework Club Co-coordinator

The Lisbon Project is a non-profit organization that exists to protect and integrate the lives of migrants and refugees in the city of Lisbon. We are currently seeking volunteers to assist our Homework Club coordinator in the management of the Homework Club program aiming at pairing children with difficulties with certain subjects at school and tutors.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work hand in hand with the Homework Club coordinator to recruit new tutors and to train them in order to provide helpful tutoring sessions for the kids subscribed to the program.  
  • Pair children and tutors together. 
  • Oversee the planning of tutoring sessions (in terms of space, schedule, etc.). 
  • Support the families who are part of the Homework Club program.  
  • Maintain frequent and open communication with the Education team of the Lisbon Project.   


  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including effective listening.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Cultural awareness and ability to interact with people from different cultures, genders, religions and backgrounds. 
  • Previous experience in human resources would be preferable.  
  • A background in education would be preferable. 
  • Fluency in Portuguese would be preferable. 
  • Fluency in English is required.

Time Commitment: 5 hours per week for 6 months commitment
