Time Commitment: Flexible; 0.25 - 1 hour per week remotely available to answer questions sent via the LP’s communication platform, Slack.
Welcome to attend in-person team meetings/gatherings as desired, but this is not a requirement of the role.
Connected to: Bridge Team Manager and Social Care Director
Minimum Educational Level: Formal qualification and/or experience in your area of expertise (law; accounting; social support; housing)
Start Date: Currently Hiring
Summary:
Connecting to the Lisbon Project communication platform (Slack) and being available to respond to Bridge Team volunteer questions that you have expertise/experience/knowledge in, specifically helping determine whether a lawyer/accountant or other expert is required or whether the matter can in fact be progressed by the community member and Bridge Team volunteer without.
Also remaining available to deliver a workshop as part of our Family Friday Plus series and considering the possibility of whether you can receive (pro bono or otherwise) referrals to your service/practice outside of LP in specific cases that might be appropriate for this.
Benefits:
If you are a member of a partner organisation volunteering in this role, you will be significantly increasing opportunities for inter-organisational collaboration and the potential for these collaborations to increase in their ambition and impact
If you are an individual consultant/practitioner, you will be connecting into a network of organisations and individuals passionate about social cohesion.
Becoming a part of the LP team and community – its diversity of people, passions, activities and foods!
Context:
The Social Care department provides administrative support and emotional care to Lisbon Project community members. It does this through two separate teams, the Bridge Team and the Care Team, which collaborate on the same three outputs:
1. Daily 1:1 Drop-in – in-person support
2. AdminHub – information platform (soon to include emotional regulation ideas)
3. Family Friday Plus workshops with special guest speakers at least once a month
While the Bridge Team volunteers are supported most consistently by the Bridge Team
Manager and Social Care Director, we are also building up the Bridge Team Expert Panel with individuals able to:
a) provide ad hoc advice in response to specific situations the Bridge Team encounter, relevant to the Expert’s area of expertise
b) consider delivering one-off or multiple workshops to both the community and team as part of our Family Friday Plus series, if/when need and interest emerges in expert’s area of expertise
The recruited Experts are also invited to offer pro-bono (or otherwise, if clearly stated and appropriate to the request) consultations outside of the Lisbon Project framework to community members in particular need and in particular alignment with the Expert’s area of expertise, professional interest and capacity at the time. In this way, Bridge Team Expert Panel members have the option to be listed as one of the external specialist options to whom the Bridge Team could refer community members with more complex needs in referrals that could be considered by the external expert on a case-by-case basis. We are looking to recruit individual consultants or colleagues at partner organisations who specialise in prevalent areas of need (accounting, tax advice, legal advice, housing support, etc.)
We can’t do it without you! Thank you for being a part of our team.
