The Lisbon Project aims to empower and integrate migrants and refugees through community-building efforts. As the Connect Coordinator, you'll be at the heart of our communications and play a vital role in welcoming prospective, new, and long-time members, answering questions and making sure everyone understands who we are and what we stand for. Promoting diversity and inclusion through meaningful intercultural connections you’ll serve as the key link between our team and the wider community.
This internship is a varied role covering registration management, reporting, engagements, leaderships, communication and more as you desire! We look forward to your positive ideas and working on your personal development together.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Communication:
Serve as the first and main point of contact for enquiries to ensure a smooth process from the beginning and subsequently navigating LP services.
Provide support and facilitate integration at the LP, in person and remotely.
Oversee Community Member registrations and resolve issues that arise.
Promote activities, opportunities and share information/resources on different platforms e.g. the LP Whatsapp Channel and Community website.
Proactively update internal and external resource material and info.
Leadership:
Complete regular reporting and analysis for Community Members.
Provide general support, especially for Directors and Program Managers.
Attend and contribute to regular Managers meetings in order to improve processes and provide guidance across the organisation.
Increase overall awareness of LP activities and processes.
Manage expectations with particular care and sensitivity, especially in moments of emotional distress while conveying LP boundaries of support.
Requirements:
Fluent English and excellent communication skills (other languages desirable)
Enjoys listening and speaking with people to maintain positive relationships.
Excited to engage with different teams and get to know our resources.
Ability to interact or convey information effectively across cultural differences and diverse backgrounds (experience with migrants/refugees ideal)
Punctual, detail-oriented, efficient and organised.
Ability to prioritize work demands and follow through effectively.
Proactive with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative and creativity.
Knowledge of Portugal and an understanding of the bureaucracy is ideal
