Role: Math's Tutor Volunteer
Reports to: Education Program Assistant
Time Commitment: 10h p/Week

Summary:
As a Math's Tutor Volunteer, you are to provide academic support to students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds. Responsible for delivering engaging and structured mathematics lessons, helping learners develop confidence in problem-solving and improving their numeracy skills. The tutor must be a native or highly proficient Portuguese speaker to ensure effective instruction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver interactive and accessible math's tutoring sessions tailored to students’ learning levels.
Provide one-on-one and one-one-two support to help students grasp mathematical concepts.
Assist students in improving problem-solving techniques, logical reasoning, and numerical skills.
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and needs.
Encourage a positive and supportive learning environment to boost student confidence.
Prepare lesson materials, exercises, and activities to reinforce learning.
Track student progress and provide constructive feedback.
Work collaboratively with Lisbon Project’s education team to align tutoring strategies with program goals.
Requirements:
Native or highly proficient in Portuguese.
Passion for education and a strong desire to make a positive impact.
Background in Mathematics, Education, Engineering, or related fields (students or graduates welcome).
Experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and cultural awareness when working with diverse learners.
Ability to explain mathematical concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
Fluency in English and knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
Familiarity with online tutoring tools (if remote tutoring is required).
